How frequent should i be changing the oil in my 1.4 sport? I heard its every 3000 miles is this true? Also should i be using part synthetic 10/40w?
What about topping up? Should i do this every 1000 miles? Roughly how much will it consume in 1000miles?
Does this apply to most cars (obviously the type of oil will be diff)

There is no need to change it so often, once a year or 10k miles is fine. Vauxhall 10/40 semi synthetic will be fine for your car.
Just top it up when its needed, some cars use oil some don't. Just check it and put some in when its a bit low.

Vauxhall say that 0.75 litres per thousand miles is 'normal'
