Not so long ago i blew the engine on my Corsa Sport 1.6 16v, I bought a replacement engine off here and fit it myself, It was only when i came to connect the power steering pump up that i realised that the fittings were different and that i couldnt bolt my old power steering pump on, So i have run the car without no power steering which doesnt bother me at all,
The problem now is that the power steering fluid is also used to lubricate the pump bearlings and they are now shot and the pully is wobbleing slightly and whining,
Now im not 100% with engines but ive been told that the water pump is ran off the timing belt so..... as im not using either of the power steering pump or the air-con pump could i just get a belt made up to go on streight from the crank pulley to the alternator
would this work??
thanks in advance

The steering will be heavy as fuck will it not? PAS rack without the pump running is a lot heavier than a non PAS rack.

Yes you can get a smaller belt. Not clued up on those engines, take it the alternator can swing on its bracket?

no mate if i remember correctly the alternator is fixed but it is possible to go around the tentioner pulley without it rubbing in the engine mount, i need to take the belt off and open up the tentioner and measure the size and get a belt, ill get 1 for free through work

its the same engine though the only thing that will stop you putting a corsa pump on is the mount that holds the pump i had an xel in my corsa with power steering on
