Today I tried fitting the front ARB to my Corsa but it cathes on the manifold even though I have tie bar lowering blocks.
Are there other spacers I need to fit for the ARB?

Nope. Is it a standard manifold I assume matey? Are you putting them on the front most brackets only?

Standard manifold and fitting the ARB where it was originally. I know where they were as the rubbers have left clean marks amongst the dirt

It just touches the ARB.

Sorry matey, I have just clocked that you put 'tie bar lowering blocks'. Do you mean the ones with 3 vertical bolts (headbolt length) that go on the front cross member I assume? I thought you only use them for the F28 jobbies? Often a series of 5mm thick plates?

I am 99% certain I have the ARB lowering blocks which drop the front of the roll bar down in relation to the tie bar itself. They are yours if you want them fella?

(Assuming I have got that the right way around?)

That's what I have chap, Think it's 5 blocks each side used with 1.6 head bolts.
You got some spare ARB lowering blocks then chief?

Yeah same number, Like you had it donkeys.
No rush bud, Got lots to keep me entertained before fitting the ARB

I was just going to knock the studs out of the brackets and use longers bolts with washers or something to space it down. Pikey tuning

Well, the blocks I have are about 26mm thick IIRC? (I remember knocking up a tech drawing for someone at some point?) and sit about 2/3's of the way between the bottom arm and the front panel, so you would need to space it a fucking lot!

My ARB has made a nice small dent in the 'downpipe' part of my manifold. Been like that since I've had the car.

Thiers two ways of doing it to clear the manifold,

1. get the earlier manifold
2. arb spacers

tie bar lowering blocks dont move it enough, i have 45mm per side to clear my manifold but it fould the gearbox so i put the tie bar on the bottom of the wish bone instead of the top

Get a ARB from a 12XE or possible 10XE, they seem to have a bend for the cat pipe located there.

Editted...

Do you mean a ARB from the 10XE or 12XE? I doubt the manifold off those engines would fit a 20XE

Mine was originally a 1.2, Think I gave the ARB off it to the scrap man last week

Pretty sure it wasn't as beefy as the GSi one i'm trying to fit.
