Upgrade the RAM mate....I have a fujitsu Siemens laptop (possibly that model) running vista basic and have just upgraded from 1 to 2 gb of RAM and it's like a whole new computer now

the upgrade is simple, just pop the small panel off the back of the laptop, undo the clips for the existing ram, and replace it with the new ram, I would recommend a 2x1gb kit. I used overclockers and bought this:

I ma not using diskeeper as i dont think i need it. I am not going to be installing xp as the missus preferes Vista I do know how to do it but havent got the software anyway. So thanks for them ideas.

Planty02 - I will talk to the missus about upgrading the ram, just had a quick look and it seems reasonable, and you say it works hell of a lot better?

Well before it was really struggling to play the sims 3, constant stalling and jerking but since the upgrade it has run sweet as a nut.

If you upgrade the RAM, it's wellworth going into the system BIOS and upping the graphics memory too (This is only a system setting, no further parts are required), this will help performence ALOT, but doing this with only 1GB won't see any benefit but 2gb will give you the required resources to do so

hope this helps you out, if you need any help i'm not a million miles away from you
