Whats the easiest way to connect headphones to the PS3.

Im getting some decent wireless noise cancelling headphones for Bday but im told the only way you can connect them is the have a sound system connected to the PS3 though the optical out on back of PS and then headphones plugged in the sound system

Is this right... if so whats cheapest way of doing it.

hmmm tricky hows ps3 connected? hdmi inoto tv?

just plug the headphones into the sound output on the tv?

or use component cables for ps3 to tv as they have phono connections on (red, white) then use a 3.5 mm adapter on them and connect headphones bit of a pain really.

get headphones that take optical?
