Author Are the inlet gaskets on 1600 16v engines all the same?

I have been told that there are 3 different gaskets that go to the head with different size holes in them.
Is this true?
I have a C16XE with an X14XE lower inlet and Dbilas upper inlet but it's trying to suck in way too much air on full throttle and just dies.
Will run fine on three quarters throttle.
Getting fed up with it now!
