If you havnt got one then defo put one on otherwise there will be very little cold air going to the filter and with the engine needing cold air and its sucking hot air its gonna cause flat spots i would of thought!!!!!!!

No pics but its pretty easy mate!!! Either buy a pipercross one for about £20 or buy some aluminium or similar fair sized tubeing and strtch it from you front bumper(any hole thats big enough, the lower the better, because its colder!!!) then stretch it to just a few inches from your filter!!!

Is it really colder lower down, or do you mean it's density is higher because it's lower and therefore gives better power.

doesnt really work unless the car is moving coz the pod wont 'suck' thu the duct like an air box would... if u know what i mean. u will always have a flat spot when taking off from the lights coz of heat build up in the engine bay. the only really effective way is to isolate the pod from heat via a heat shield or to minimise heat by 'wrapping' the exhaust manifold or bonnet vent.

anyway heres my cold air intake

Well if you smoke. Try blowing the smoke in front of the car near the air intake and see where it goes. It simulate air movement when the car is moving. So an cold air feed does work, if positioned right

yes it works when in motion but i was talking bout performance on takeoff. when sitting at the lights the engine bay fills with heat and components get affected by heatsoak. this is the heat that gets sucked in by the pod initially causing the flatspots and this heat doesnt get drawn out the bottom of the car till it is in motion and cooler air is fed thru the front.

Surely if the intake pipe isn't touching the cone there will be no real suction through the pipe unless you're moving and air is blowing up it? I've got a BFO on my corsa C, and i'm using the intake pipe which was already there, i've got the pipe so it is almost touching the cone, is this right?
