From all the shit that's been said about this in the past, the only gains I can see from these mods are for sound benefit lol

Do I have a hot air feed pipe? Sorry if that's a really thick question. Engine's an X14XE.

the difference will be negligble in power, you may get flat spots with the induction kit

Drilled air-box with K&N is the way to go. I had a Piper X induction Kit before nd the Drilled air-box is louder and the engine is more responsive at low revs. It's also about £50 cheaper.

"Replacing them with a "high performance" filter does absolutely nothing for power output. There is sometimes a bit of power to be found by enlarging the inlet tube in the bottom of the filter box or drilling a couple of extra 1" holes in the box. It's usually only a couple of percent at most though and hardly enough to even be felt in terms of extra performance."
So a cone will in fact lose you power, less it has it's own sealed airbox to stop it sucking in hotter air. it's something like a 5% power loss per 4deg C

I dunno m8........look in my garage and you'll see shield..
Can make one out of aluminium in an L shape..goes underneath filter and up the rhs to stop heat..Mine mates up with bonnet insulation when bonnet down.
To be honest imho get bfo and a few cold air feeds and it will be fine..and sound cracking..
mind this is just my opinion..others will argue.
