1.4 16v sport, only put air filter and scorpion monza backbox on and think last service was done at 96,000. it is now at 131,000

ok

good idea to service it,
oil
oil filter
spark plugs
cam belt (as they have to be done at 40,000 miles or they will break.. dont trust it or it's going to be expensive!!)
new water pump (belt will be off so best do it save it possable going tits up later on and havng to fork out for a new belt again)
new oil pump (old engine so best change this aswell)

then i'd go hunting for broken vacume hoses, the ones on the side and back of the inlet manifold seem to perrish and crack on the 14xe and 16xe engines quite often so i would check them..

then i'd just find a local motor facter and get
coolant temperature sensor (CTS)
Lambda/o2/Hego sensor
Manifold Abselute Pressure sensor (MAP)

Also start plonking in some red X into the tank.. i used to put 2 little bottles to a tank of fuel, this will help clean injection system of grubby deposits and grime build up..

then i'd get a garage to put it back on the machine and see what the readings are, just ask for a quick emissions test
