I've just installed DD-WRT on my WIFI AP and I want to use the installation of Aircrack to crack some wifi routers

I think you need a specific wifi card for this to work dont you?
Find a guide, theres plenty of them.

I'm using an EOC-2610 which has an Atheros AR2316 chipset.. I've installed DD-WRT which ships with aircrack-ng but I know very little about Linux.. I can telnet into it and see the aircrack-ng binaries but I dont know what to do with them.. Theres no GUI etc as its all telnet based.

That's a live cd and there a few cracking tutorials specific to it, it's a great cd apart from that, I know little to nothing about linux though and I had no hope of installing the funky drivers my wireless card needed to operate the correct way.

Im doing this on my WIFI AP, it doesnt have a CD drive lol  its just a little plastic box

goto the aircrack website and read the basic wep cracking guide, you need to test injection for the specific SSID+channel, then do the fake authentication, then you need to get aircrack to start listening for wep packets on the specific ssid+channel, then you need to either wait until you have lots of wep packets and crack them or do the arp attack where you cause lots of traffic to get packets which you then crack.

yes you do need a specific one from a list, and then you need to have the special patched drivers (on their website) so you can do the injection methods.
