Hi.
Took a rad off to plaster behind it...
closed the return valve, the thermostst valve doesnt have an off... so ive left it on frost (hoping it doesnt get cold enough to open.)
erm...
Now i have a huge puddle, and its still leaking, cant replace the rad, as i damaged the joining pipe (rad to valve)

what can i do short of draining the system?? till plumb base opens in the morn.

help/advice appreciated asap.

cheers

Get some plastic caps. I think you can get ones with a thread to suit the valves, infact i think new valves are supplied with them.

Won't help tbh as the central heating is a closed system.

B&Q is open now so you can sort it

for future reference, taking the head of 95% of TRVs will shut them off, you could off also plugged the expansion to the header tank and the feed for the cylinder to stop the water (presuming your on a gravity fed system)
