Author 1ltr 12v to a x16xe problems, need HELP

Hi all,
My mate has a 2000 Wreg corsa and got a 1.6 sport engine and box for it with ecu, transponder, engine loom and dash loom. Hes spent the day fitting it, the enging and box when in fine, he was told that the only bit of the loom he needed was the loom the went from the engine to the ecu witch he fitted but when he turned the car on it wouldnt start.
The car turns over but is not sparking, hes taken the spark plugs out and rested them on the block and there not sparking at all, fuel is gettin to the rail?
Does he need to fit the dash loom as well for it to work or does he need any think elses to get her going.
Please help

doesnt need dash loom no. did he get the chip from the key with the x16xe?

No he didnt, does he 100% need it?

yep 110% split the key and its in there

Arr that mite be a problem coz the car mite have biin scraped, hes going 2 find out if the guy who he got it of stil has the key, if not is there any other way round it??

yeah it can. if you cant get hold of one iv got a spare ecu chip and transponder here

get a second hand key steal the transponder chip out of it..go to vauxhall with the car on a trailor and get them to program it in! take 5 mins and about 20 quid
