got my c20xe on a diagnostics computer as the engine management light is on, the fault came up saying phase sensor voltage too high? does anone know what this is? cheers

Voltage high means an open circuit.


I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Phase is either cam or crank, did you get any other information?

It'll be crank sensor then as the XE doesn't have a cam sensor.

What about the sensor at the right hand side of the rocker cover on coil pack models? That's a cam sensor I thought.

Hall sensor if it's a dizzy model like mine. There's no cam sensor as such like on a ecotec.

my c20xe is dizzy cap but the car is driving 100% surely if the crank sensor was dodgy the car wouldnt be running well at all?

How is your car driving 100% if ECU light is on?
When the ECU light comes on the ECU runs in limp home mode which basically is a pre determined map without using readings from sensors.
It'll run ok but performance will be down.

well the car doesnt feel to me if it is down in performance since the light came on although it may be! what i am trying to say is when the crank sensor is dodgy would the car not be running really bad?
