hello everyone atm i have got te C16XE lump and its my lil project going for the fast road theme, basically what i wanna know is what gains could i get, and firstly is there a difference between x16 and c16 heads, i know the manifolds are, what i had thought was to get a cylinder head powerbox it, enlarge the TB, set of FR Cams and have the head port/polished or gas flowed what is the better option or do i do the pair of them? also ive head something about doing something with cutting the valves or something? what power am i looking at with cams, power box, headwork, enlarged TB, fetch me? im gunna probz have a decat and stainless system nd eventually a 4 branch, also where could i get my c16xe ecu chipped up cheers

I think the c16xe has slightly bigger valves, I would do it all.
cutting the valves is probably cutting down the valve guides inside the inlet ports as they can protrude into the airflow.

Aftermarket management as well, a chip for that spec would be crap.

i dont think there is a difference between the heads as i had a c16 head on a x16 engine. its jst the inlet manifolds that differ with the x16 having a egr system. i wanna do summat along them lines to mine but dont know were to start. haha

With regards to management for this sort of spec (almost identical to mine) is either the c16 or x16 ECU mappable? or is it a case of HAVING to get onto standalone? or is a piggyback possible?

i had 80mm deepened pocketed pistons, lightened/balance, i ported the head, cut back guides etc, inlet, stock airbox with panel filter, full 4-2-1 system, arp rod bolts and ran the stock afm and ecu, no probs, no EML light on like some people who have inlets fitted had. only thing that did let it down was the rev limit, but i couldnt justify a superchip when i was going for standalone for my 20xe i was building.

I always wondered why my EML light was on... down to my inlet then?

Sweet!
I'm taking a trip up to thorney motorsport in the morning to enquire about cost for setting up etc.
So will have a word and see if they have some sort of diagnostics machine to see why my EML light is coming on..
Just waiting for the monkeys at regal to post my fecking verniers now! Its FINALLY coming together!
