I am fitting a new water pump to my corsa sport but I havent got any markings on my pump to line it up, so how do I do it?

No it doesn't, it has to be lined up, haynes says so and so does autodata.

the notch is for the top securing bolt and the pump will only fit one way
if you don't believe me, fit it and see!!

there is a notch on the block and one on the pump, it should tell you that in the hyanes manual

the older ones did need to be lined up.
i found the new ones will only fit in one way and the tensioner takes up any slack.
new one has a notch in, old one has to be lined up.
new one will only go in one way

My new one hasn't got the notch but has got the flange around the outside of casing like the old one in your picture.
