Ive spent 15k on this house Im doing up so far, about £200 of that has been at homebase as i just dont like the place

I dont mind Homebase - although the one they've built near me is significantly better than any of their older stores. I hate Focus but its easy for simples stuff like fixings etc and its closer.

I go to Hazelwoods alot of the time for most stuff, because I get the trade discounts and I also get them at anything like Dulux, Crown, B&Q, Wickes etc...
Wickes is probably the best for raw building gear and fixings.
