ive got a c20xe engine with 72k on to go in my sport, ive now got most of the conversion parts ready apart from pas set up as im abit confused on what i need, been told c20xe pas pump and chris astley bracket but not sure if i need anything else?
also i want my engine to have new belts gaskets ht's plugs ect, could someone please give me a list on things i should change before the engine goes in as ive been told water pump is a good idea to change through the conversion. i am on a budget but really want the engine to be strong and healthy before fitting.
any help much appreciated

to be properly strong you'll be looking at a total re build so save some money and do it propperly and dont skimp or it will cost you big in the long run...
but tbh you'll need a top and bottom gasket set.
all new shell bearings & main bearings (need to get crank tested to see what thicknesses are needed)
new hydrolic lifters
block profeshonely cleaned (hot de greaser bath or ultra sonic)
new water pump
new oil pump
piston rings
all new bolts (head bolts and internal engine ones)
ect...
as i said before dont skimp on things as you got to think 90% of these engines have been given death from day 1

full rebuild is going to be too expensive for me so cant go down that route really, i know the engine was solid anyway as it was in my friends calibra that he owned for some time, but i just want to change the essentials really just so i no they have been done before hand as its easier while the engines out. was thinkin of;
full engine gasket set
water pump
cam belt
timing belt kit
plugs
ht's
oil filter
fuel filter
anything else that would be a good idea to change?
any help is appreciated

If you do the head make sure you skim it obviously, but what you've listed should be done as part of a normal engine drop swap anyway.
It really depends whether your in it purely for a bigger engine, or a vehicle you want to keep for sometime that's done right and feels like brand new

tbh you shouldnt realy have a small budget when doing a engine conversion as its expensive tbh

the car will be kept for some time so like you say it would be good to have it driving crisp and not like a nail as it will be used regularly, but havent got lots of money to go the full rebuild route. surely changing the parts mentioned will have the engine running sweet as it was a good runner in my mates calibra before i bought it.
yeah getting the head skimmed mate, thought it was pretty much everything just wanted make sure i hadnt missed any important bits before the change. think the lifters will get replaced aswell and poss change oil pump aswell.
thanks mate
