yeah so as the title really, its getting quite anoying. It usually does it when its booting up or just loaded windows, no error messages or anything, just goes off like someones pulled the plug out the wall. Dunno if it makes a difference either but it wont just switch back on, i have to pull the power cable out the back for a few seconds.

Check the CPU heatsink for dust? My sister-in-law's computer did similar as it was hitting critical CPU temperature during boot...

Yes, check how clean it is inside, if it's clogged up it'l end up overheating but will shut down prior to that to save any damage.

Could be the Power Supply Unit also.
see if you can smell some burning from the top back of the tower.

my old computer used to do something similiar.. although it was like it went to half power.. the tone of the fan lowered..

Depends on the pc, i looked for s few for my lapto before and they ranged from around £40 to £100.

You were conned mate, £65 buys you a belter of a brand new psu.
Just seen you said laptop.
What do you mean by psu, charger?
Laptop chargers are fairly expensive, that's different from a desktop psu.
