Outside my house, i have a pair of round lights, which at present, go on when dark and off when light. At the front of the house, there is a light sensor.
By looks of it, it has 2 pairs of wiring to it. Will it be possible to take this off the wall and change it for a PIR sensor. So that lights come on when i drive into the courtyard, for a timed period? Or will i need to start from scratch
Cheers!

yes i should think so mate. you have a photocell atm with a feed going in and out the switch side. the photocell works the same as a switch, as does a PIR. so yeah it should be a straight swap.

You should be able to wire it up through an AND gate so that it has to be both dark and trigger the PIR for it to activate.

Dont need to start using logic gates, just wire the two switches (PIR and Photocell) in series

Thats actually good thinking, but the pir sensor i was gonna buy has a built in darkness and timer etc, so it wont be needed
