car runs fine down motorway/normal driving etc, run at a constant 91 degrees

as soon as i stop, get in traffic for a few minutes, temp creaps right up and fan cuts in

also around track, temp also goes high, sits at 98 degrees

what do normal 1.6's do in same situtation, how long in traffic does it take for the fan to cut in, and what temp around a track

got a few ideas to keep her cooler, new rad, maybe a corsa A/C rad as there wider..

water wetter, supost to lower temp (have got some at home)

also an oil cooler...

need to get her running cooler as when runs more power and revs will run even hotter

could so be linked to the height of my coolant tank?

my old 1.6 corsa was the same. my mate had a similar problem in his xe corsa and fitted a switch in the dash for the fan and works wonders for engine temps

Yea it worried me at first especially how quick the temp guage can actually move, but mine has never gone above 100.

Maybe have a different bonnet for when your going out on track etc. One with cut outs and louves to force cold air into the engine bay. My first standard GSi did exactly the same thing Warren.
