some black marks on my alloys - prob grease or summin. but a real pain to get off. tried a pressure washer about 1cm away didn't shift it. Gonna need to use some sort of spirit or sumthing aint i. What do u ppl use and suggest?

it prob tar
halfords wheel cleaner eats it
£4 in a spray bottle u cant lose
works well
i recomend it

clean me zaust with wd40, works fine, cant do any harm with alloys i don't reckon.

I remember a while back, Tim mentioned something about lemonade and fairy liquid being the best

Well, definitely lemonade, not 100% sure what the other component was, some soap of some sort

Auto Express have a weekly consumer-test section and a few weeks ago it was on alloy wheel cleaners. They do some quite exhaustive testing. I'll look up the bestbuy and recommendations for you & let you know tomorrow night. This weeks is on steering-wheel security devices, and you'd be surprised at the results - some only lasted 6 seconds!

1st (5*) Wonder Wheels £6.99 for 1000ml
2nd (4*) Meguiars Hot Rinse £6.99 / 710m
3rd (4*) Comma Alloy Wheel Cleaner £9 / 750ml.
