For the I Phone?
As Orange and Vodafone now have contracts surely they will be competing or have apple set prices themselves?
Also what are the best Apps

Someone correct me if this is wrong,
Apple are pretty strict on the prices according to what i've read on here, and a couple of other places, so doesn't look like they'll be coming down anytime soon. I think Robbo said that Voda will be slightly better, but that's not till April?
I was hoping for this as well, might have to settle for a free N97 mini for £20 a month instead of £100odd iPhone for £35 a month.

There wont be a price war, demand is still too high for them to have to alter the price to make sales
Im looking at the Mini Cavey, how you getting it free on £20 a month, sounds perfect for what I want!

I think ours should be out in January (probably mid)
As for price, a sI said before its unlikely the prices will be any different due to Apples revenue share demands but what you shoudl see is better value from us for those tariffs which should then pull O2 and Orange into doing it also

People who buy iphones will pay whatever it costs so they don't need to lower prices, this has been covered.
Tesco are getting it though, they could bring some interesting to the party since orange and vodafone can't.

They'll be trying to get rid of old stock by then for the new one that's exactly the same as the last one, apart from one thing that nokia has had since 1995 that will be marketed as a new feature.

How do you know it will be PAYG?

Tesco Mobile don't do contracts IIRC but if they do then they will have the same issue as everyone else
(unless they just get the older iPhones)

I'm not sure whether it's tied in contracts or not but they definitely do contracts.

as if the companies would tell you when the price war was going to be even if it was going to happen

It's not going to happen, Apple say it costs £X so that's what it costs, if Apple dropped it they all would, which won't happen until another slightly revised one comes out next year.

Think the other thign people forget is how much the quivalent iTouch costs... perosnally id be happy to pay for an iPhone and keep tariff/contratc down than to keep upfront a slow as poss cos you are still getting and iPod out of it

The mini... http://www.mobiles2yourdoor.co.uk/OfferSelector.asp?ITK=1&ItemKey=290660&NetKey=11&HandsetKey=290660 is £25 a month though, but on a 24 mnth contract. Might be able to find it cheaper, but I'm after it on o2

They do, although their monthly tarrifs are a bit like T-Mobiles Mix'n'Match, so i doubt they'll be offering anything decent.
And as a lot of people have said, there won't be a Price War as Apple have fixed that. Only thing that will come from everyone having the iPhone is Operators out doing each other on tarrifs (to a point anyways).

Sorry to bring it back up again,
I want it on 02 as i have been with them for years. and i get loads of free goodies.
Idealy i will buy two in the New Year
Is it going to benefit me to buy them outright or to contract them
I know that after one year of owning the phone out right i will have to pay £10 a month for internet, but will it work out better in the long run
Also if i bought the phone outright i would probably benefit from being able to sell it on as and when i feel like it

Second hand for a 32gb 3gs I thinkyou're looking at £450ish, £375-400 for a 16gb and then obviously £15 a month for PAYG on O2 with free internet etc... so £630ish for a year?
On contract it's £35 a month for 2 years, and £90 for the phone (if you've been there for ages then might be able to get it a bit cheaper) So £510 a year, but you're stuck till the 2 year mark realstically.
Not sure if that's what you were asking, but i've done a little bit of work on figuring out whether I should be getting contract of buying phone etc recently. (Went for a N97 mini instead as it's about £300 cheaper over 2 years )
