if your going put another engine in then y not just go all the way and c20let it. because whatever you put in your going have to change logbook and have it testes for on the road and so on and so on

why is it going to be cheaper to buy a whole new car? 1.6 engine with loom and ecu £150-£300
shafts anything around £20 -£35
16v dash loom £20

you obviously know what your on about and have done a conversion before! lol

all you have to do is send the log book off with the engine size filled out as 2.0
insurance will ask you for engine number and who carried out conversion ( very rarely may send someone to inspect it)

a c20let conversion will cost way more than a 1.6 conversion so dont listern to stupid people like this, if you want the 1.6 go for it.

well if you can do all the work yourself then yeah it would be cheaper but still i dont reacon it will be loads cheaper.

like you said the enigne is £150-£300 maybe more for gearbox aswell???
shafts £20-£35 (each if new)
16v dash loom £20

exhaust manifold
cat
exuast system as the 1.0 exhuast wont do the job for the 1.6 engine
then you have engine mounts
bigger cooling system for example raidatior and hoses.
bigger brakes needed

then the insurance will be more on a 1.0 with a 1.6 enigne in than just a 1.6 sport.

then if you want to have the sport seats ect you need to buy them.

then if you want the spoiler example you need to buy that.

if you want a sleeper then it will be cheaper but if you are doing the car up for looks aswell and insurance i reacon it will be cheaper to buy a new car.

because mainly when you sell your car. even if only for £500 which you should as the shell has got to be in good nick if your willing to put another engine in.

then add another 300-400 and u have a 1.6 sport.

and no i havent put a bigger enigne in a car before. all im trying to get across is if your going to do it why not put an engine in that doesnt come standard in a corsa or you mite aswell just buy the bigger enigne car in the first place.

fair play then if it is cheaper than buying another car then thats great. just do your homework and price up both options. and yeah thats your choice if you want to declair the mod to insurance or the dvla but it will cost even more than the insurance if you get caught.
