anyway to do this?
pretty much i bought a new 120gb hd from ebay and a data transfer cable
I inserted the disc but nothing happened on the xbox
So popped it into my laptop and some programs appeared on the disc.. i installed xport 360 but after a few goes i couldnt get the data to show up on my xbox
After creating a profile, i copied mine off the 20gb and it would show up on the xbox now
So went back and copied all my save data but my dlc doesnt seem to have copied over and now Forza 3 doesnt work
i just get this message
"the forza motorsport 3 profile you are trying to load is no longer available, please delete it rom the xbox dashboard and create a new one"
Help!

I believe they are sata discs and probably FAT32 formated..
Get a USB caddy and do it that way.

i think someone else had this problem - put the disk in the tray, set the xbox to auto boot disk on startup and then reboot the xbox.
ps what's m dollar?
edit; have you checked out the Microsoft help? http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemuse/xbox360/console/datamigration.htm

i thought i was buying a proper MS cable and disc but got shafted by pricekiller.com
the cable seems legit but it came with a load of bundled software on a DVD-R.
I backed up my 20gb drive and then copied over the content folder from partition 3 to my computer using xport.
then i deleted the content folder on the 120gb drive and copied over the old one.
everything seems to work except the game updates and one live arcade save. luckily i only have saved games and some downloadable content.
for anyone else, i'd recommend buying the kit from microsoft. i would have but didn't realise they were selling it.
