I have an external media player which my ecternal hard drive plugs into. is there any way I can have the hard drive plugged into my laptop and into the media player at the same time? So I could add films music to it etc without having to get up and un plug it from media player then plug it into laptop?

I would just get a NAS enclosure instead then it will just be in your network places and can access it from anywhere with/without authentication.

Are these worth it for what I want? Basically to have the harddrive plugged into media player and my laptop at the same time. Also in future I'll have maybe a couple more external harddrives plugged in too
