will this just be the gear linkage? seems like its touching the rear engine mount bracket....

Probably touching the rack and is just knocking it out of gear. just look at the tip of the linkage that hits the rack and get some mole grips and bend it towards the engine slightly. job done.

either that or you may find its therubber gaitor on the gear selector shaft going into the car that is bouncing it out of gear. you will see what i mean if you get under the car.

most probably hitting the rack if its a linkage you have shortened yourself then it might need shortening a bit more
