when I open an image it just comes up as a long black line..

it said something about the pixels

I didnt mean it like that

it comes up as a black line

Have you tried opening the image outside of photoshop?

Easiest way is either go back to the original image on the net or open the one you have in IE or something and right click copy, then paste into photoshop.

Go back onto Facebook and download the image again.
