After i turn mine on/off, i hear a loud popping/cracking noise, im assuming its the plastic expanding, does any1 else notice this? seems to be a few discussions on the internet.

Secondly, I find the PS3 runs awfully hot has any1 go a remedy for this or improving airflow? since its flat on the bench does any1 raise the unit for more cooling?

Where are the 'breathing holes' on the ps3 slim? If they are on the bottom where it's lying down, i'd suggest you stand it up. (if they are made for standing up.)

Failing that, try build something that will be able to 'lift' the ps3 off the flat surface so its got continuos air flow.

its okay i get this with mine, its because they get hot and whn you turn off it cools down and it is just the plastic expanding etc. Sometimes if i play the ps3 at night and go to sleep the popping etc is that loud it wakes me up
