Author difference between 1.6 sport and GSI??

Hi does anyone know what the actual diff is between a 1.6 16v sport and the 1.6 16v gsi corsas? i know the sport has a x16xe engine and the GSI has a c16xe but whats the diff?? ive been told the gsi has a plastic inlet... is this true? Thanks

As far as im aware the C16XE has a plastic inlet, ir also has slightly more power.

I think they also have different driveshafts for when your doing engine conversion, on the GSI you dont need to change them, whereas on the sport you do.

That last bit may be wrong, but its something like that

Only the early GSi's came with the C16's, the later one's came with X16's.

The main difference between the X16's and C16's is 3bhp (C16 - 109bhp, X16 - 106bhp) the C16 is isn't ecotec, where the X16 is. That's all u need to know really.

fair play, i got an ople corsa gsi, but its on a 's' plate so 1999, im guessing its a sport over here as its not got the kit on it, just got gsi badges, and says gsi on log book

Because u said 'over here' like u live abroad. I can't see how it say's GSi on the logbook

Maybe in Holland the Sport is called a GSi and its just been registered in this country as a GSi.
