Sky are being ghey and not sorting out broadand for about 2 years so wondered if there was anyway of getting short term broadband, one or two months

i'm with plusnet and I know they will connect you up without a contract, costs a bit extra for the connection though than if you had a 12month contract.
Also what about a 3G dongle or something, I had one when I moved in here before I sorted out the phone line/bb and it served it's purpose, cheap enough to buy now as well.

hmm is the download speed quick enough on the dongle play the ps3 online, thats the main reason i want it,

Yes, some routers let you do that, mine is like that, but the router came with the dongle.

i scan every night but they are all security enabled, i might see if i can borrow some sugar of the neighbours and write down the wep key while they get it

Use something like inSSIDer and do a scan, if anyone is using WEP then you can crack it fairly easily. But the easiest option would be to tell Sky to do one and get ADSL from someone else
