I used to have a DVI to HDMI cable which worked wine between my laptop and TV. It broke, so I bought another one from a different store (ebay) and it didn't work for some reason. I recently bought a DVI to Component cable yet this won't work either? Any ideas to as why, and what do I need?

are there any options on your laptop for your DVI-I socket?
if it doesn't work then send it back.
I use a DVI to hdmi on my macbook and don't have any probs.

Nahh just a DVI socket, it used to work with an old DVI to HDMI but doesn't work with the newest DVI to hdmi cable...Now this won't work, i'll have to check the cables on a different laptop/tv or somet.
