I just bought a HTC hero G2 as a temp phone its a used handset and for some reason I cant set up my own email account it seems locked to the previous owners mail account.

So at the moment I cant seem to get rid of it so I can register the phone to my own account so I can access Apps Market.

I really dont want to reset the handset as I have just had it unlocked!

Help please

Yeah I think it needs to be rooted before I do the reset as it may restore the handsets factory defaults

Resetting it won't re-enable the SIM lock, all it will do is restore everything back to factory defaults (so connection settings, interface theme, etc) thats it...

If you root it, you will be flashing a generic firmware anyway, so no Tmob branding.

tbh, if its just a temporary handset, just perform a factory reset & then apply the O2 settings for the connection. Besides, it's not uncommon for the HTC's to be very lightly branded if on Tmob anyway.
