I am interested in putting some alloys on my corsa B 5 door.
I am not that interested in putting bigger than standard wheels on the car as i feel it is bad for performance!
Where can i get some 13" alloys and are they quite cheap?
Would my insurance company (Tesco) have much of a problem with them? ie. would they cost me more premium?
Thnx

You won't loose performance by going to 15" or 16" alloys and it will make your car handle a little better... best bet is to get yourself a max power, redline or fast car mag and browse through the adds for wheel and tyer packages.. your insurance should be fine as long as you let them know about the change... if anything they may bump it up about 20 quid or so...

as long as u keep the rolling radius (perimeter of the wheel) the same distance u can get larger rims, u just have to get smaller profiled tyres.
Why 13"? even sports come with 14" as standard....
A 15" with 195/45 should be the same.....

A few of my friends got their insurance wid Tesco and had nothing but trouble trying to get money out of them for being broken or crashed into ... all events which were not their fault...
i've heard plenty of stories on here as well about tesco giving them the middle finger...
They may be cheap but when i comes down to them giving out money... well they try to get away without paying you a dime.

Tesco's are really shite for alloys. For my alloys wheels they got another £150 because the value of the wheels was over £250 but lower than £500, if they were above £500 they would have wanted £250 off me. Its stupid, and the thing is I tried to tell them them that I didnt pay the full price but they wouldnt listen, they wanted to know the make and model of the wheels and they went and found the information themselves and then told me how much I owed them and told me if I didnt pay my insurance would be cancelled with no refund.

Ring tescos and ask how much to cash in your policy, then ring round for quotes elsewhere like HIC or liverpool victoria!

WIWC could you explain what you mean by cashing in your policy??
Do you mean you pay off a certain amount and you get to move insurance companies but get the bonus of completing a year like 1 year NCB??

Ul loose ur no-claims but get a refund of what uve paid.
Not worth doing if ur over3-6months into ur policy!
I had to do it after 5 months as my old insurance company said they wouldn't insure me if i did me engine mods, got bout half me money back.

Ah well my Insurance runs out at the begining of August, not worth it then, just gonna wait until then, have my 1 years NCB behind me and move onto something with a little power.
