After one of these as I refuse to pay for Sky as we dont watch enough stuff and we cant get Virgin telly. This is on ebay Hitachi 253 250gb
It says it can record 2 programmes at once, but does this mean I have to be watching one of them? Which is the same downfall as Sky. We have 3 aerial points in the house, 1 on each storey, so can we watch 2 BBC1 on the top floor, BBC2 on the first floor, and then record Ch4 and 5 on the bottom floor, and everything will be ok? We've got an aerial booster thing already, and a brand new aerial in March this year.
Also, can you find anything better for the price? Not got a lot of spare cash at the moment but keep missing out on programmes because we cant record them and cant be arsed watching them on the laptop in terrible quality

Well, it's twin tuner, so yeah. It can only tune into 2 channels at once.

a gadget called playtv allows you to plug an aerial into the ps3 and use it as a freeview box and record to the hard drive. Added to the fact that u can upgrade hdd's up to 1TB now it's the best option IMO

The OP has been answered already.
On the advert it says quite clearly in big red letters "Twin tuners allows you to watch one channel and record another."

Brett look at my original question

Would this situation work?

Put it into as many confusing questions as you want, it can tune in to 2 channels at once, end of. What's so hard to grasp?

You have 1 aerial, feeding a booster/splitter that then goes to 3 outputs, one on each floor?
Then yes I think you should be able to have one TV watching BBC1, one TV watching BBC2, and a twin tuner recording Ch4 and watching Ch5 all at one time.
Oh and PlayTV is a great gadget for the PS3. It's practically the only reason I use my console now. PS3: It only does PlayTV.

Game, Gamestation, HMV... anywhere.. I got mine half price from Argos at the time. Then got a WD 500GB HDD. Job done.
