Anyone here getting poor economy from the ecotec 1.8 16V. Ive never had better than 9.2/100Km in every day driving no matter how soft i am on the loud pedal. How do the various sensors effect consumption.

What economy would you expect ? Mid-30's mpg would probably be about right on the 1.8. Based on my 25 mile each-way journeys to work in my old Corsa B 1.4 8V I was getting about 42mpg, on a Corsa C 1.2 SXi I was getting 45mpg and on my current SXi DTi its 55mpg (best of 58 and worst of 51 so far). Can't think I drive that slowly as I overtake a lot more times than I'm overtaken. My cure for poor fuel economy - drive with a brick under the accelerator !!
