Hi. I think i need to upgrade mine, The pc i have is not that old but the card is a Nvidia geforce 7900 gtx. I put it in from my old pc as i needed 2 outputs for monitors.

Now im trying to edit some HD video from a Canon eos 5D mkII and after a couple of mins the computer throws up a lot of error messages about display adapter and restarts so im thinking i need something better? Can anyone recomend me something please? Ive no idea how much I want to spend because I dont know what they cost.

rest of the system is pentium dual core 2.60 ghz, 4gb ram, windows 7 home premium 64bit. Cheers.

Thata card is a bit dated - the driver resetting is a common error when the card overheats.

Assuming you have a PCI-E card, get one of these to replace it.

That 4850 is 2 generations old? Looks overpriced too. Go for a 5700 series for the same price.

Cheapest 5800 series card is around £95 which is a 5750, and the performance increase between the 4850 is argueable. Only major difference being DX11.
