Have tested everything. Has a new battery has been tested and the alternator is putting a charge to the battery.
Have checked the wiring to the dash and there are no breaks anywhere, I have also just changed the bulb and holder and ther is still no light.
Any ideas, I am stumped.

its not supposed to be on while the car is running, it should only come on b4 u start the car. My guesses are if it doesnt come on then you have a damaged track on the printed circuit board, or the bulb u put it blew instantly indicating a problem

Not while car is running just at point 2 in ignition. If it had blown instantly it would have at least flashed briefly.

Have sorted it now, pure luck though.
Decided to run another continuity test on the blue/white wire, just on the off chance, gave a reading then the reading disappeared.
Briefly bodged a new wire in and hey presto, light is working. Have run the new wire properly now.
Its kinda like asking a garage to fix a funny noise, it disappears when the mechanic gets in the car.
Oh well, all works and now I have a mnassive battery and one dash light brighter than the others.
