This took a couple of days to make it to the mainstream press, but;
22nd September: ACS Law describes 4chans' DDOS attacks as "typical rubbish from pirates". "Big whoop," he added."
24th September: "Tens of thousands of broadband users may have had private information – including their addresses and credit card details – leaked online in the aftermath of a prolonged attack by users protesting against the methods used by ACS:Law to pursue alleged file sharers."
On the one hand, people have had their credit card information spilled (bad) but this may lead to the death of arguably one of the most morally corrupt legal practices in the country. They're hopefully going to get shafted by the data protection act.
I'm not a massive 4chan fan but they're determined bastards.

Just read through the article.
The boss of ACS said this about the original attacks - "It was only down for a few hours. I have far more concern over the fact of my train turning up 10 minutes late or having to queue for a coffee than them wasting my time with this sort of rubbish," he said.
4chan seemed to have taken that as a challenge and raped them twice as much.

From what I've read, they didn't actually hack the site to find this info.
It was on the server publically and not encrypted.
If they do hack then they probably just use proxies or don't give a crap
