mine has been done so the 3D thing must just be a software difference for the bluray players to show it.

I made a thread the other day, was wondering if theres was anything I could buy for my tv but sadly I can't. I'm sure there's a plug in bit of kit for recent bravias

The firmware allows the PS3 to play them, you still need a 3D TV though, you don't suddenly have 3D after the update.

The add-on boxes you can get are for some '3D-Ready' TV's.

Excuse my ignorance but why..
Can you not use the ps3 in the 3d mode with them shitty old glasses like the old days.
Is it a diffo way its displayed? Even so, why dont they have both ways?

Well if it is the anaglyph 3d format with the red and blue glasses then yes any tv can do that format because it uses those colors for the 3d effect. Not in theaters they use polarized 3d with the tinted glasses and no a television can not do that format. Now there is a 3rd format that looks like polarized 3d called field sequential that uses the shutter glasses. In a year or two they are suppose to come out with that 3d format but you will need the dvd player and television and shutter glasses to do it.
