as far as i know that should be fine im pretty sure it all runs the same, the only difference being would be larger injectors and cylinders etc to obviously increase the cc, but im sure the injectors are 'on' for the same length of time, so shouldnt make a difference

WRONG.
A x14xe will not run a X16XE properly, Nor vice-versa.
I did run a X16 ecu on a 14 for a while, but ran like shit, overfuelled like funk, was down on power, etc.

no mate it run
i changed my x14xe with x16xe and it's fine and run normaly
so there is no proplem

My mates 1.6 sport had a 1.4 sport ecu fitted by mistake. It hit the limiter at 5k or lower etc, it didnt run properly at all.

Well it revs up fine and is quicker than my mates I just wanted to make sure that's all as its over feuling when usin normal fuel puffin abit of black smoke, but I tries shell v -power seem to get more mpg and no black smoke any1 a idea of what that could be?
