ive fitted new balljoints to my corsa, but theres alot of play where the pin goes into the hub. has anyone experienced this before? the pinch bolts are as tight as they will go. thanks in advance

Are the pinch bolts the same diameter as the old ones?

the pinch bolts were the original ones off the car

Sorry I meant the actual ball joint bit that goes into the hub. If that isn't the same that'll course play.

hubs can become worn if the previous balljoint has had play and wornaway the hub mount.
If the balljoint is the right one then you will either need a new hub leg or you can grind away the gap that closes up when you tighten it so it has more room to tighten.

the wishbones,tiebars and ball joints have been changed for post 97 and the car is pre. but im pretty sure where they go into the hub are all the same

Best to check rather than presume. If they changed the style of them they may of changed sizes too

I noticed on mine when i bought some 2nd hand lowwer arms the ball joints still left on and were the two holes were they are shorter distance apart than my w-reg sport ones and they are straight were the later ones have a bend in them and holes wider apart why do vauxhalls do this???? And also noticed it when i bought the lower arm mod for f28 and it comes with plates that have the early short distance :s
