I started experiencing problems yesterday whilst playing Battlefield, the game kept freezing then going to a white screen and eventually crashing the PC, I restarted the PC and one of the logos was all bitty with lines through it, distorting the image. I thought nothing of it as the PC came on and worked fine.
I just went to turn the PC on and every screen was bitty, had lines going through the screen and random colours everywhere then it kept crashing, it was doing this for about 10 mintues. I took the side off the tower and had a look inside and checked all the connections, everything fine although I thought I did try the memory so took the sticks out one at a time and eventually it came on and worked as normal, is it that? surely not? I put it down to the hard drive or maybe even the graphics card? I'm no expert by any means so I'd appreciate any help. Never experienced this problem before.

I'd have said graphics card first but if moving the memory about it's either been the memory/memory slot, or you've knocked the graphics cards back into place when doing it.

So one of the memory sticks may be fucked John, makes sense I suppose considering it's working fine since removing one not a big issue if it's that then.

Stick/slot.
Move another stick into that slot to see if it works, put that stick into another slot etc.
