I currently have a 4th gen iPod 20GB (monochrome one) donated to me by my other half some time ago which I use for listening to music either at home or when I'm on the train etc.
What I want to know is this: on the newer iPods/iPhones, is there a way to sort through songs by Album Artist rather than just Artist? At the moment I have to go through the Albums menu if for example I want to listen to a compilation album with tracks by various artists.
Edit: forgot to say it's a 4th gen Classic!

I'm sure you should be able to do that now?
Is the iPod up to date?

Yeah it's got the latest software on it and I'm running the latest version of iTunes on my laptop.
Under the Music menu on the iPod there is:
- Playlists
- Artists
- Albums
- Songs
- Podcasts
- Genres
- Composers
- Audiobooks
