The Mrs has just got back from Tenerife, shes been for the new year with her parents ( I couldn’t go due to work). Whilst there she got pushed into the pool holding her phone so its now water damaged.
Its only a 3g so not really worth claiming on the house insurance due to the increased premium but considering claiming on the travel insurance. It isn’t new for old cover and read of people only getting £80 after months of claiming.
Worth it? Also, is it best saying what actually happened or would they say the accident could have been prevented or something?

Just check the policy and make sure they cover water damage and accidental damage etc.

I'd phone up, explain the situation and if it's shit just say "Oh wait, it's working now, nevermind"

In all fairness it does still work now the water has evaporated out the screen, its only the home button that doesn't work. If they ask for it they will probs just fix the home button, which I could perhaps do myself for a few quid..

Probably need a new front assembly, I smashed the screen on my 3G and had the front assembly replaced at apple for £79
No doubt a back street phone shop will do it cheaper, I wanted to keep my guarantee though

You can't fix the home button yourself, it's bonded onto the digitizer and the only way to fix it is to replace the whole assembly - i.e. the glass and the touch screen stuff - the LCD is removable on the 3G however.

Presumably the person who pushed her into the pool is now a dead man?

Watched a 'how to' vid on youtube and thought forget that.
Chances of Mazuma noticeing the home buttons broken upon trade in?
