hi guys, my dad's an engineer, so i'll be getting him to make me a home made de-cat, just wondering if anyone has ever done it before? and whats the best material to use? also does anyone know the size it will need to be i.e diameter of tubing/thickness and the length? thanks

Stainless would be the best bet, mild if you can't get it.

i bought an sri with a piece of scaffolding pipe welded in place of the cat

What id do is, just take the cat off, cut the actual cat from the pipe, measure how long it is and just get a piece of pipe (from an old exhaust) cut it to size and weld it on.

I know a guy that had a Golf VR6 turbo with a 10' scaffy pole in place of his whole exhaust, I never saw it but apparently it sounded mental
