hey there peeps!
i have a problem....
my hd unit has 2 pre outs, one for the comps and one for the 12" sub.
i recently found my brothers 8" active sub. (lets call this 8sub)
i've been doing some experimenting.....
this is what ive done..
i have split the RCA used for the comps, so this leaves me with a spare RCA for the 8sub.
As for power i have split one of the power leads to the existing amps and used it for the sub8.
the problem: is it safe to run two amps with one power cable that has been split into two? there's only one fuse on the line.
will power be halved between the two amps?
i have set sub8 to LP 175hz
the 12" sub is set to LP 75hz
comps are at HP 100hz
any help is much appreciated
cheers

the power wont be halfed, but you will be drawing much more current. It wont blow up, but you could risk melting the cable, and you wont get the full peformance from your amplifiers.

wouldn't the fuse near the battery burn out before the cable does?

buy yourself a distribution block for the power cable only about 20 notes
