hello, its been a while since ive posted on this fourm as sold my corsa many years ago.

i have just sold my mini cooper works & have brought a 2000 corsa b to run around in till i find a new car, the car i have brought has been lowered 60mm but only have std steel wheels/trims fitted as previous keeper removed alloys.

my question is:

if i fitted 15 insh alloys what offset can i get away with????????

& same question for 16" & 17" wheels?????

ide prefer 15's & on my last ones i fitted a set of et 35 from a ford (multifitment) & they were ok

but i guess with 17's they would ahev to be more like et49????

but........what can i get away with????????????????????

thanks

I've got 15's with an ET38, lowered on coilovers about 40mm all round.

They fit fine but any lower and they'd rub on the back arches.

Best option is stick as close to ET49 as possible.
As for size, 15's or 16's. You will need to take into account the tire size you run aswell.

Wouldn't bother with 17's personally.

Hope that helps.

They might be ok, only way of knowing for sure is to fit them and see.

If the arches have been rolled at the back you will have a better chance of them fitting, otherwise -60mm will rub constantly on the back with them being the wrong offset and 205 wide.

You also need to consider practicality of running big wheels, wrong offset and it being lowered, eg:

If you have passengers, a full boot, speed bumps, crap roads etc. I'd hold out for some Vauxhall wheels, you can usually pick up a set from a scapyard/forums etc.

In the mean time refurb the steelies.
