Cousin has the newest shape of ipod nano (i think!) and has photos on it that i'm trying to get onto laptop, but not sure how. With my old nano, when you connected it to laptop it acted like a pen drive and you could view all the files through my computer etc. With this, it seems I can't. Can't even seem to view photos on itunes, so any tips?

You can't unless it's the computer it was sync'd with.

No you don't.
You just need to go into iTunes with your iPod connected. Go into the iPod screen and select 'enable disk usage' from one of the first page. It ought to come up as a storage device then.
