Hi All,
New to this site posting on my boyfriends account, i've got a small issue when i start my car in the morning, it makes a really bad rattle noise and then calms down after a min or so ?
A garage has told us it's a timing chain issue, but, a family friend who is a mechanic has told us it can't be that, so i'm a little confused
Can anyone advise please ?
Thanks

Timing chain. Have you checked your oil?
Timing chain kit at our place is £95, then around 4 hours labour at whatever rate your local garage is on.

Ignoring a rattle on the timing chain can damage your cams in the long run.

Well i'll get mine looked at this weekend and let you know the diagnosis, if it is the timing chain i can't afford it yet so is there any time limit or anything i can do to slow down the inevitable ?
