Who's got any suggestions on the mid-highish end docks?
Something along the lines of the Bose Sounddock 10 which is £550 (seem to be no budging on this price anywhere?)
B&W Zeppelin is out because he doesn't like the look of it.
Dad would just buy the Bose and I have to admit it does sound good, I'm of the impression, however, that it's as usual with Bose, it's good, but doesn't quite justify the price.
That B&O thing is too expensive so that's out.
What else can do the same job or similar, I'd ideally like it to play songs over the network but that's not a must, neither is being ipod compatible, just has to play music in some form, could be off an SD card or similar.
Experiences or opinions?

I have a Sony dock
It sounds good, charges whatever is docked and works as alarm too all for under £100. It's even got a remote!

Naa want something higher quality, even the difference between the Bose 10 and the standard 300 quid Bose ones everybody gets was quite noticeable.

Try having a look at the WhatHiFi recommendations:

Personally I would go for the Fatman iTube Carbon setup.
I'm just not edgy and cool enough to pull off the Bose or B&W stuff and really care more about enjoying music than having people recognizing the brand names on my shelfs.
That said, both the Bose and B&W dock play very, very well. The B&O isn't in the same league.

I'm not cool enough either, although it's not for me, I have said that the Bose doesn't justify the price and a lot of it is the name.
I was looking at that fatman setup, that's the sort of thing I'd look at it, I think my dad is looking for an all in one that could be easily moved about if need be.
Not portable as in battery powered, just easy to lift up and move to another room.

Ive got the normal Bose soundock, I can't imagine a need within the household for anything that is louder/of better quality.

It's not need really, it's want, and you can always have better quality.
